Waterside Quarter Park

The Waterside park is a leisure and relaxation space that forms a lively place within the dynamic of the renovation of the quarter, making the most of its position beside the Seine. Fostering a dialogue with the river, the project creates an opening for nature and eases the transition between the urban and natural environments by hosting various activites for the inhabitants. The park also handles the collection and regulation of the quarter’s runoff water through finely tuned work on the different ground levels.

Eco-Campus

A space that is both representative of a major company headquarters and designed for daily life, the garden of the Châtillon eco-campus prides itself on its environmental quality and creates a pleasant setting for work and relaxation. Composed around a large lake, it alternates sequences of nature and convivial spaces, with new horizons opening up all along the walk. Different ecosystems follow on from each other, making the most of the specific microclimates generated by the buildings.

Sycomore Eco-District

The new eco-district of Sycomore aims to create a mixed-use and sustainable quarter, which fits in to the town and its history while responding to the challenges of the metropolis. Urban and landscape frameworks were worked on collectively, linking up the different planning programmes with the development of the public spaces and the hydraulic framework.

The creation of two parks, both within view of the Génitoy farm, and the linking of the landscape spaces and the project for an agricultural park, strengthen the dialogue between city and agriculture.

Ampère Great Park

On a brownfield site in the new joint development zone of the Atlantis quarter, the Ampère park was designed to be a fragment of nature in the heart of the city, offering several different spaces for the inhabitants to enjoy. The project made use of several attractive mature trees already in place to diversify the plant strata and increase the number of micro-landscapes that form a backdrop to a walk through the park. The ground work evokes the historical stratification of the site. Sports fields, a children’s garden, an esplanade planted with cherry trees hosting picnic tables, a flower garden, lawns criss-crossed by sunken paths are some of the many spaces devoted to the relaxation of those who live or work in the neighbourhood.

Greenways

The initial study performed in 2012 honed the master plan for the development of the greenways, defining and specifying a network of cycle-friendly itineraries that would create a soft transport network for leisure use. The project in its entirety helps in the development and planning of this land area at the metropolitan and local level, enhancing its natural and agricultural landscapes, its heritage and the dynamics of urban projects. The project is divided into different phases, the first of which crosses the Versailles plain and follows the Bièvre valley, thus linking all the communes of Versailles Grand Parc.

Mazelle Square and the Seille Promenade

Where the old city of Metz meets the more recent districts in the south, Mazelle square and the Seille promenade are situated in a strategic sector with regard to the city’s urban challenges and cultural dynamism. The space was originally given over to road infrastructure, and the challenge of the project was to make it a keystone of urban regeneration for the city.

Forming a real gateway for the city centre, as well as the missing link for the Seille promenade, the project allowed Metz to create a living public space for its citizens. Boulevard André-Maginot was reconfigured to minimise the space taken up by traffic lanes while taking into account all the constraints of traffic circulation in order to free up new spaces.

On a site that previously formed the prow at the confluence of two branches of the Seille, and is today at the crossroads of cultural institutions, the project expresses the metaphor of nature at the heart of the city by creating a square where the city of art and the city of water meet. It is composed of a large, open space, whose hard surface treatment integrates the presence of the road and provides a solid foundation for the buildings’ façades. Space has been created to welcome city events and café terraces.

Like the vegetation of the river’s meanders, the trees with their light foliage shelter more intimate places, punctuated with benches arranged around mineral slabs on which water gently flows, bringing freshness on summer days.

The development extends to the north, along shop facades, with the Jean-Cocteau square and a wide pavement into which a side-street feeds. The Seille promenade, with on-street parking, a cycle path and a large planted walk, overlooks the river and becomes an esplanade at Porte des Allemands.

Paul Claudel Joint Development Zone

The basic idea of the project is to set the buildings in the clearings of a large wooded area. The work on the public spaces and the habitat gives this new quarter an atmosphere of the countryside in the heart of the city. Aside from their pre-greening, the architectural and landscape specification incorporates the private lots into this strong landscape structure.

The new streets serving the residential blocks have been designed like bridle paths, employing a planting strategy that would give a feeling of wooded thickets as you walk through them. At the heart of this scheme, a sunken glen bordered by a pedestrian and cycle path collects the storm water for the neighbourhood.

Boissière-Acacia Eco-District

Bordering the fort ridge and overlooking the Ourcq plain, the new Boissière-Acacia eco-district adjoins the residential suburbs of Montreuil heights. It takes into account contemporary ecological challenges both at the level of building construction and of the public spaces, proposing a mixture of planning programmes to develop the offer of housing, businesses and facilities on the eastern part of the land area. A car-free district, its public space, composed of greenways, public squares and neighbourhood areas, integrates storm water management, the development of biodiversity and specific planning programmes linked to Ile-de-France water board land.

La Marine Eco-District

The project for the public spaces covers all the residential streets and small and large squares that irrigate this new quarter and link it to the neighbouring sectors of the commune. It also offering a façade for avenue Charles-de-Gaulle and the tram line. Its spine, the Voie de la Marine, forms an axis linking it with the Seine. Aside from their specific leisure uses, these spaces provide access to the future new housing and facilities, as well as rainwater management for the quarter.
